Lightbulb regearing the samurai !???

Changing the transfer-case gears because of the loose in power in fifth gear at highway speed or loose in the 4x4 high with 29"+ tires or so can be confusing!

been looking into the 6.5:1 gear set but i have a few concerns :

1- would it be too low for the sand hills ?
2- would it affect the overall speed of the vehicle at 2 high ?
3- would it be appropriate to be a daily drive ?
4- what would be the best gear set for the desert sand and mud bits ?

P.s i would like us to make this an open discussion about these questions and others of your concerns to make this listing the ultimate gear-set information on the web thanks to you any ideas recommendation about this matter is appreciated !!

Suzuki Samurai Gear Calculator

There's a good tire/gear calculator. Keep in mind that it doesn't take into account your HP capabilities. So if you enter that your top rpm is 60K and you set up your gears so that your samurai goes 150 mph in 5th gear. It won't actually have the HP to go that fast. You can however calculate what your theoretical speed will be with different tires and gear ratios, just understand that your engine does have limitations.
