Default bad throw out bearing ?

Well I have finally put my motor in and my clutch chatters. I did not put a new throwout bearing in "wish I did". So here is the big question since I have to pull the tranny off I was just going to replace the old stock clutch.So which clutch is the better buy the Petro works performance clutch or the center force dual friction clutch.I have stock rims tires but the new motor is 10.2 high compression and rv2 cam all from sammypro. I did not mill the motor at all it is still all standard sizes. So let me know which is better Petroworks clutch or Centerforce clutch.

In my opinion the petroworks is a better choice.

the petroworks has better slip characteristics than the CF2 clutch. Yes, some slip is a good thing. I got the CF2 when I built my transmission up because I was running really hot carbs. I wanted it to grab under full load and I wanted to be able to dump the clutch at higher rpm. Complete overkill on the samurai. Took me a few months to get used to driving the CF2, the engagement point is about 1/4" of pedal and you have to know exactly where it's at so you can ease it in really nice. If not you were dropping the hammer every time you let the clutch go. 2 good things came from the dual friction clutch. 1st, I havn't had to change my clutch in 12 years and over 100K miles. 2nd, Only I could drive it, no one else wanted to "borrow" my rig.

go with the petro works, It's easier on the kidneys as well as the drive train.

Agreed, Dual friction clutches are great for aggressive driving or getting more life out of the thing as it will be made to withstand abuse. However you're daily ride will suffer as well as other components; then again it will probably outlast everything else on your rig.

IE: Ujoins, gear teeth, engine components, basically anything the clutch is attached to is going to suffer until you get used to it .

I will not be using the sammy for 4 wheeling daily driver highway speeds. Will 4 wheel the sammy if it called for other than that it being 4 wheel is just a plus. Sounds like the petroworks is winning the right to go in my rig.

ive heard good things about both. i just put the petroworks in mine and im loving it.

some say they can change the clutch without dropping the tranny entirely, but i couldnt get in there. too tight. but with a notched cross member it will slide in and out really nicely.
