GIZMO is on a distinguished road
Default I've struck oil

Well....I got engine back in GIZMO and now I need some advice. I only get the time every once and awhile to wrench on the project. It has been a slow process. Cranked the engine up the other day and had a massive leak out of the timing belt cover. Thought it might be the cam seal again. Took off the cover and found the oil trough plug...I think that is what it is called.

Removed the plug....cleaned it and the port good. It had Permetex (form-a-gasket) but not enough. Applied a generous amount again and reinstalled the plug. Let it sit over night. Went wheeling through the woods behind my house. When I got back to the house the leak was back. Removed the cover again and found it leaking around the plug again. It was not leaking at first crank up. I've got good oil pressure 65 at start up and settles to 55 after warm up. Has anyone ever had this problem and how did you fix it? I could seal it for good, but I might want to open it back up some day.
