Default HELP ! Rock & Roll

Samurai. when my Sami is loaded I get this uncontrolable body roll at speed 70km + I have had the shockabsorbers & all the front rubber bushes etc changed. the roll gets so bad that I cannot get it under controll unless I reduce speed to 40 Km. it is even worse when I have my 2 fishing ski's loaded on the roof rack... any help please

do you have any kind of lift kit on it? Check the swaybar links. I had a front swaybar link crack at the mount up by the front bumper. I didn't know it was broken cause you couldn't see the break when it was sitting. But it swayed like crazy when I got it up to speed or had a heavy load in it.

Thanx Baratacus.
I dont have any lift kit, stock standard except for the bigger tires.
i will jack it up and check for cracks or breaks, would be funny though if the suspension specialists didnt pick it up when they changed the rubber bushes. will report my findings on Monday

if they replaced the bushings on the sway bar they should have noticed. The front linkage for the sway bar is just two little posts with collars off the bottom of the front bumper tube. Another thing that can cause excessive bounce and wobble is worn shocks.

Is this a recently purchased "New to you" rig that has done this since you bought it, or is it a vehicle that you've had for a while and it's only just started doing this?
You should be able to put a good load in the Samurai and still have it stable, If you do overload it, your sway bar isn't going to help. If you've got too heavy a load on it, you'll notice your springs are at full flex and at the top end of their spring rate. That will make the springs very tight and springy. Any unloading of one of the corners will be very exaggerated and when you are traveling fast that unloading and reloading transfers to the other springs and starts an undulation that starts getting bigger and bigger untill its completely out of control. If it turns out that you ARE just overloading the rig, and you frequently carry heavy loads, you can use coil over helper springs to help carry the load so that the leafs aren't over sprung.

Thanx again... had this car for 6 yrs, has always been a problem, replaced shocks twice....... I will take some pics tonight of the leaf springs. the curve of them bothers me some what. hard to explain, but you will see what I mean with the pics
