Default i cant find it!

for some reason i am not able to find the mixture control screw. my HIC solenoid has been hooked up to itself and i just found a very detailed vaccuum diagram and was wondering if this would fix running rich?

the mixture control is set at the factory. If you adjust it without an air/fuel mixture gauge then you're going to mess it up. There is no way that you can set the Fuel mixture by ear.

If you have a vacuum diagram then you should be able to hook all your lines up correctly. Use new vacuum line (its cheap) for everything. One old loose hose can make a huge difference.

Not sure how the HIC can be hooked up to itself... it has one vacuum line port that goes to the intake manifold. That's it... just one port. Are you sure you got the right part? It's not a solenoid, it's a bi-metal switch that opens and closes when it gets hot and cold and it's up inside the carburetor hat. A solenoid is a powered switch, usually a plunger that will have an electrical connector.
