Default jimny camshaft

Hi i have a 98 jimny 1.3 16v which seized the cam in the head . the head and cam were a total loss
so managed to get another head and cam from breakers yard. fitted all ok but would not start
found that the original cam had 11 pick up points for sensor and new cam has only 2.
Been trying to find another cam but seem very scarce or could the pick up ring be swapped over to other cam.

I'd say go find the right head. If the pickup ring is different what are the chances of other things not mating up? Just because it fits the bolt holes doesn't mean it will work for your engine block.

The heads are interchangeable, the cam sensor is different between models. You could try changing the toothed wheel but you need to be carefull you don't break it.

Hi,

I have the opposite problem. I need a 2 tooth camshaft and have a 11 tooth.

Have you still got the 2 tooth shaft and would you part with it?

Thanks
