Default Oil Pan plug forward of oil pan drain

Can someone tell me why my oil pan has a additional plug in it forward the drain plug please? It is a 86 Samurai 1.3 with Weber.

The plug cam out going down the road and I lost my oil but I got it shut down before any damage was done.

Thanks in advance.

I've never seen a second plug before. It sounds like someone patched a hole with a bolt.

You may be right. I will tackle it in a few days.
Thanks for the reply.

I got the oil pan off and took a good look. It appears that someone or some thing took what looks like a sharp punch or object and drove it thru the oil pan and then plugged it with some sort of rubber plug. The rubber plug came out.

Can you still find new oil pans or do you need to head to the salvage yard?

Thanks
