Default Need Tire Info.

i just bought a set of 235/75R15 safari tsr's for my 87 sammy, does anyone know if i can put them on, or do i need a 2" lift, or something? i just dont want to mount them and have them rub,, i want to make sure im ready for [email protected]

Those are a full 2" taller than stock and a little wider. You may get away with clearancing the firewall and inner fender lip with a hammer. The firewall can be beaten back about an inch and you won't notice it much from inside. The fender lipneeds to be flattened out so that the sharp edge doesn't cut the tire during hard articulation.

if it stil seems a little too close for your liking, replace the stock shackles with some aftermarket shackles. You don't have to go very big. Remember that the additional physical length of the shackle only lifts the vehicle by half.
1" longer shackle (bolt hole to bolt hole) = 1/2" lift
2" longer shackle (bolt hole to bolt hole) = 1" lift

Anything longer will bring its own problems...
