Default Gotta get to the bottom

Hay I have an 83 sj410 that has a 5 spd, this has me all confused. From the research I have done I think that the 82 came with a 4 spd tranny, I found it very hard to find any specs on the 83 but did it stick with the 4 spd, go to a 5 or would mine have been swapped out for something els.

So the 83 did come with a 4 spd? I thought that the tunnel of the sj410 was to skinny to fit the sammy sj413 tranny.

The LJ50 and LJ80(SJ20) were the smaller rigs. The earlier LJ50 had air cooled engines and the later LJ80(SJ20) in 1977 recieved the massive 797cc SOHC 40hp engine. They got a 4 inch wider axel but the body stayed the same narrow style. They were in production untill 1983
