Default Looking at a semi-rolled tin-top

I found an 87 tin-top on craigslist that I'm interested in. I called the seller and he says it has 70K or 170K miles on it. It also smokes some, but doesn't use hardly any oil. It runs good. The big issue is it's been partially rolled, one side of the roof is banged up. Here is the listing on craigslist: http://boise.craigslist.org/cto/1797143935.html $850 seems cheap, but with the roof like it is, is this a good price or not. Obviously, I'm not looking for a show car, but I don't really like a total junker either. I'm also not very good at body work. So my other question, would it be real hard to make this look better, or would I be stuck with a beater tin-top. I don't do much 4wheelin, but like something that can putt around town and to the lake and have the 4x4 capability. I've always liked the looks of a Suzuki tin-top since the first one I saw in 1976. Not sure what they called it, but must have had the 2-stroke engine. Anyway, what do you guys think?

If there's any question to the mileage, go with the higher number. 170k sounds right for that old a rig. One of the other members on here rolled his rig and did a great job of pulling out the tintop and windshield. That rig will probaly need a complete going over to determine what needs repairing before you think about buying it. That way you know what you're looking at in cost and whether it's worth it or not for you to purchase.

u can get a new roof and make the tinny perfect, but since you dont care for show quality you can just pull out the dents, and rihno line over the roof so that way you can see the waves.

Thanks for the replies. Looks like a new top would be $400, then labor to cut off the original and weld in the new one, probably another $500, then paint the new top and probably the rest of the body to all match, at least another $500. Might as well accept it pretty much as it is or find a better Sami. If I get it, I'll let you all know. Thanks again for replies.
