Default intermitent wipers

Hello fellow Samurai drivers....my problem is about wiper speeds. This 88 Sammi arrived in my driveway with 2 speeds on the wipers. On the column the switch only has 2 positions. My buddy has 3 speeds. His first stop on the switch is intermittent, the next is slow and next is high. My question, can I obtain a switch from a donor vehicle and install it in my column ? Is the ability to intermittent sweep already there and only needs a switch or is the wiper motor also involved in the transplant needs.
thanx

Default intermittent wipers

Hello again.

Well...it turns out that the ability for intermittent wipers is in the switch.
Once I found a donor with that function, switched them, and tried them it works. BTW it is one switch...lights and turn signals and wiper/washer... is all on one switch...take out the speedo/tach cluster...drop the steering column...take off SW...shroud and all is well...re/re/re !!! All done in less than and hour.
Incredible these little rigs...all the wiring is there...only add options and go !!!
Keep the greasy side down.

thats good info to know. I didn't have any knowledge on the wiper switch so I couldn't offer you any advice... just had to wait in anticipation for the outcome!

Default Can't find the intermittent switch!

ARLO,
I would love to add intermittent wipers! I have searched for the switch on used part sites and new part sites. I cant find the switch. Is it unique to certain years? You said you found a donar car. I don't know where to look. All of the parts cars I have seen have only "low" and "hi".
Thanks in advance for any help.

Default intermittant wipers

Hi,
The donor vehicle was an up grade 88.5 Sammi The side symbols were gone with the fenders. Seems it could have been JC or JCL model...no way of knowing it, was pretty much stripped. No running gear. No doors. Busted windshield. Body really rough. The wiper switch says off/int/lo/hi has 4 clik positions with the off. It is connected to the turn signal switch, but has different plugs.
Someone might have this switch in their possibles.
Anyone who has dismantled a 87 to 97 Sami should have at least one.
Some have referred to Hawks as a possible source.
Good luck
