Default suzuki jimny fuel / petrol flap

HI .....the fuel / petrol flap on my 2001 Jimny won't lock (opended as usual one morning using the internal lever and then refused to lock) ........does anyone have any ideas for repair?? not really sure of the cause & can't find anything in any of the manuals !

thanks

Neil

check and see if the latching pin is worn down or stuck. It shouldstill actuate with the door open. Have someone go in and pull the lever while you watch the latching mechanism to see if it is working.

thanks for that!! checked the latching mechanism (with someone pulling the lever) and it seems fine ....pin doesn't appear worn or stuck ....tho it doesn't actually lock or open the fuel door!

If the latch is functioning, perhaps the catch on the lid is bent and the latching mechanism isn't hooking it?

Have you checked that the cable is not sticking? it could be frayed or worn (or broken!).
