Has anyone attempted a body swap on soft top samor any 4 that matter. If you have i was just wondering how hard it actualy is and what if any are the problems you ran into.

I did a body lift years ago... but no swap. Did you have question on an area?
I can't believe there really isn't that much to a swap.
(going by memory, and it's been about 15 years - gas fill, steering, wiring, shifters, e-brake, clutch and throttle cables, heater hoses)

thanks,
george

Two people can do it much faster (and safer) than one. If you have three then it is even better because the third person can watch for things still attached as the other two lift the body (there always seems to be that wire or cable that hides behind the frame)...

Absolutely. I don't believe in cutting the tin top. The body will lose its integrity. It is not designed for holding up and I think it will need to be reinforced.

plus you can keep the tintop for switching back durring the cold snowy season! I don't get those where I live though.
Is it really that simple, switching bodies? I'd imagine it is a nightmare, taking off all the dash board, steering column, all electrics, fuel filler, probably even most of the stuff inside the engine bay.
