Default What samurai is this?

Hi. I saw a LWB samurai in our village being driven by a middle aged lady. The ride is obviously stock and actually looks very unkempt so I think I can safely say that she or her husband are not enthusiasts. Anyway, what caught my eye about this particular Sammy are the winches. The front and rear bumpers seem to have small winches built in. Anybody know what model this is? I'm still a noob so I really could use the info. Thanks!

Winches are aftermarket items on an SJ series. The OEM front and rear bumpers are not strong enough to support a winch directly. The winches and modified/replacement bumpers may have been installed by the dealer or by the owners.

As usual, pictures would be interesting and informative, but sometimes not possible to get. Oh well...

I hope that this helps!

Not exactly...
Suzuki offered a factory accessory winch but it was a tiny one. It doesn't look much larger than an ATV winch. If the winch you saw on the front looked like this, it was from Suzuki. If it was larger, or on a different bumper, than it was aftermarket. The one you saw on the rear was not a factory part.

It doesn't look like this. If anything, the winches seemed smaller. I'll try to get a few pictures next time I see it.

I stand corrected!

Thanks Bill!
