Default mechanical fuel pump..

The best way to disable the mechanical fuel pump is to replace it with a plate. This plate could be easily fashioned out of a piece of flat aluminum or steel (aluminum would be better) cut to size with a grinder. You can use the pump as a template to drill two mounting holes. seal it with form-a-gasket.

You could remove the acutating rod but that might cause oil to pass though the acutating rod's passageway and drain out the breather tube.

Just removing the hoses will create a waste of energy as the camshaft will still be driving the pump although no fuel will be moving through it.

I hope that this helps!
