Default J20 Engine swap

Anyone here ever put one in a samurai?

I've got an 87 tin top that I am building to race off-road.
It's an 'open' class BUT they say the engine has to be same manuf. material and # of cyls.
So i guess the best to go with is the 2.0.

anyone done it?
or have better ideas?

thanks guys

Mike

Default Thanks guys

Thats awesome thanks for the link!
I think I am going to go with using the Vitara trans and t-case as well, if it all fits correctly, otherwise i'll have to go for the kit and try and beef the sammy trans up.
I've had a sami with the 1.6 8V and it was pretty good, but not I'm thinking with the 2.0 i can run the automatic trans to race with. I am not concerned with top speed, although to get to 75-80 would be nice (although 85+ is a little scary). I'm also not looking to "crawl" though, so i should be in good shape.

WOW trail tough has a TON of stuf to help this project out! thanks for the link guys...I'm new to these thigns!
