Hi, i have recently brought an sj 413 and it came with a knackered engine, all piston rings and big end bearings gone, i got a 1.6 8 valve vitara engine with it, would it be possible to replace the 1.3 with the 1.6 , i have the conversion plate with it ?

Yes its possible. If you don't have a lift kit fitted then you need to fit the 1.3 sump and modify the oil pick up pipe. Do you have the 1.6 ancillaries? if not then you need to redrill the bottom pulley to a 5 bolt fixing. The sammy inlet and exhaust manifolds can be used but it is a good move to open out the intake manifold to match the 1.6 ports. You haven't said if its a 1.6 carb or injection engine.

Ancillaries = manifolds, carb, alternator, fuel pump etc.. if you have the 1.6 parts it makes it a fair bit easier. With 6" of lift you will not need to change the sump. Carb motor is the easiest swap.
