Smokey - what is the color of the smoke?
Rattley - What's rattling?
Could be time for a rebuild if you caught it before any damage has happened to the cylinders. But you will need to tear it down to assess the damage either way.

Default smoke, raddle and roll

check the pcv valve. it is common for these to plug and then oil is sucked in through air intake. you will see oil in aircleaner and duct tubes
A raddle when warm might be binging. check timing otherwise a teardown is required
