Default Purchasing a 1984 Suzuki Sierra in Kenya

Hi people, I just purchased a Suz Sierra '84 and this is my very first car! I'm currently living in Kenya so I hopefully will make good use of the 4WD.

What things to keep in mind for general maintenance?

Also, I can't find anywhere if I have to engage the clutch when changing from 2H to 4H and from 4H to 4L. Any leads?

Thanks a lot!!

from 2H to 4H (depending on model location and spec) if it has freewheel hubs, they must be locked before engaging 4WD. You can engage 4H when rolling but depress clutch and move lever to 4H, wait till light illuminates on dash, then release clutch. Reverse process to go from 4H to 2H

Always stop, select neutral, clutch in before moving from 4H to 4L otherwise you will cause extensive and expensive damage to the transfer case.

As always, basics, good oil, filters, clean fuel and check and change fluids as per owners handbook.
