Default Wiring/instrument cluster

Purchased an 87 Suzuki Samurai and finally began getting the little issues resolved. Since it had been driven very infrequent, many of the wiring connections had corroded. Most of the idiot lights did not work. The only thing really working in the instrument cluster was the tach.
I worked until I got tired and took it to a local mechanic. He has found many additional corroded terminals but the main problem seems the fuel gauge and oil pressure does not work.
He says that he has gotten power to the cluster panel but can't get the power to go thru the board to the gauges.
He seems to believe the board is bad but just don't know how to proceed.
Does anyone know if the board needs to be replaced and if one can be located?
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

You're lucky you got an 87 one and not an 88.5+ one like mine . You can sometimes find instrument clusters on Ebay or craigslist. You can swap between the basic non-tach cluster and the fancy tach cluster, but you can NOT swap between 88.5+ and pre 88.5.

The pre-88.5 clusters will have 4 mounting screws at each corner in front of the instrument panel.
