Default Help!! What do I own!??

Hey guys I need help. I recently purchased a 1985 samurai up here in Canada. The guy I bought it from told me it was an sj410 with the 1 litre engine? I knew very little at the time so I ended up buying it. Now it turns out I need some parts for this thing and I need too know what it actually is? It says samurai on the dash on the passenger side, it has the park brake on the transfer case, it has a 5 speed, not a 4 speed, and last but not least. It actually has the 1.3 motor. Last thing which is really puzzling me is that it appears to have the really narrow axles such as the same as an sj410. Is that possible or do I have to simply just pull out the axles and physically measure them to find out forsure, or was there such a thing as narrow axles on the larger motor with 5 speed tranny? Below there is a picture of the unit.

I know they vary a little around the world but mine was an SJ413 1986. This had SJ413 on the badges including the dash and had the 1300 with 5 speed and narrower axles. RHD over here though. I assume these are what's fitted to yours as you only have the small plastic arch guards.

Mine also had the transfer-box handbrake. The leaf springs on an SJ are in line with the chassis, on a Samurai they are stepped over a little.

Hmmmmm. Very interesting. I guess I'll just have to check leaf spring spacing/and or pull axles and get a measurement. Then I'll know forsure!

SJ410 with a bunch of SJ413 parts swapped over?

We're talking about 30+ year old vehicles here...it would be foolish to assume that any of these are 100% stock any more.

Very possible. But you'd think the axles would be swapped for the newer/wider ones that are more parts friendly? ?????

We have lots of info here Suzuki Club UK ? View topic - SJ axle info including the axle widths. Samurai axles won't fit on an SJ unless the spring perches are cut off and re-welded further in. Mr Fordem will try your VIN or have a go yourself here https://www.catalogs.ssg.asia/suzuki/?lang=en#

I believe most parts are the same, just longer casing and shafts.
