Smile Help! Fuel Problem, I think? Just Dies --

O.k. here is the problem:
Twice now whille driving the car has just died, once with a quarter of a tank of gas and once with a half tank of gas, the first time I was able to put in 6 gallons and the car started right up. The second time I was only able to put in 2.5 gallons and it started right up.

I can't be out of gas, put I am puzzled. Any help or ideas where to start looking would be helpfull

1988 Suzuki Samurai JX 4wd.

if your spec same as my jimny the problem is in the fuel pump.inside the fuel pump you have a membran which it's job is sucking the gas from the gas tank....may be that membran have a leak..(sorry for my bad english)...you sould check it or change your fule pump with electrical ones such as carry fuel pump.....
hope its works on you bro....

Putting gas in, and it starting, may be just coincidental. You have to determine, when it dies, if you have spark, and/or fuel. If you find it's fuel related, put a fuel pressure gauge on it and post your results. Good luck

Are you using alcohol blended gasoline? If not maybe it's time to overhaul the carb or fuel system
