Default Jimny Sierra / Wide manual vs automatic gear ratios

I am currently sourcing a 1998-2002 Jimny Sierra / Wide in Japan to import to Canada. I would prefer a manual transmission (though all the models I have seen in the auctions so far have been automatics) but am concerned that a manual would not be able to do highway speeds (~100km/hour).

The importer I am working with has assured me that the Sierra/Wides of this era were available with a manual transmission and that the gear ratios were such that highway speeds are possible.

My current vehicle is a 1992 Jimny from Japan and it would hit 4000 rpms in 5th gear at 80km/hr. I ended up switching the differentials and getting bigger tires in order to be able to do highway speeds.

My questions:
1. Did any Sierra/Wide JDMs from 98-02 come with a manual transmission?
2. If so, at what speed would one have to do to hit 4000 rpms in 5th gear?

Default Manual transmissions do exist!

Answering one of my own questions:
Based on further research of auction cars in the 1998-2002 window, approximately 30% of Jimny Wide / Sierras have manual transmissions (and Wide / Sierras make up ~10% of all Jimnys in this time period). Still no idea on gear ratios though.

Default Stock gear ratio lists for all models

And I can answer my second question:
SUZUKI JIMNY WIDE catalog - reviews, pics, specs and prices | Goo-net Exchange lists the stock gear ratios and tire dimensions for all JDM models. And Differential Gear Ratio Calculator - Sierra Gear & Axle provides an easy to use calculator that can tell you, given the final gear ratio and tire dimensions, what RPM you'll hit at a specific MPH. Enjoy!
