Default Problems Starting

Recently, i was going to buy and 88 sami, and we thought either A)the battery was dead or B- the alternator was bad. so we jumped it off of our other truck to get it started for a test drive. I didnt realize that the sami was left in gear so i let out of the clutch it jumped and stalled. After that the Sami was completely and totally dead. No electricity to anything. The started didnt click at all when the ignition was turned. no interior or exterior lights. nothing. we bypassed the battery and hooked the starter directly to a power source, still nothing. so this kind of ruled out the battery situation. I couldn't find an inline fuse to the starter or any other fuses except the ones under the dash. I spent over 2 hours trying to fix it, not only because i wanted to buy the car, but because i felt bad leaving the car stranded. If any one has any ideas what so ever, i would be very greatful, i want to try to work out a deal for this sami, but i dont want to get into a project that is over my head.
