New Samurai with a few problems

Well, as my username states, I am a Samurai Noob. I don't have a ton of mechanical knowledge but I am learning fast (I'm 18 and my dad is a businessman lol)
I have a few electrical issues and I don't know where to start.
The check engine light doesn't turn on when I have the key on.
The other issue is the turn signal fuse keeps blowing whenever I turn the key on. I have disconnected each front turn signal one at a time to rule out if that was the issue. The hazard lights work so I know it's not the bulb even though the hazard lights are on a different circuit.
Like I said I don't know a lot and would appreciate any ideas.
Thanks!

Did you check the rear turn lamps?

Usually, this problem is related to a loose or broken ground or a poorly rewired aftermarket bumper.

Go to Ack's FAQ and do a search for diagram. Among the results you will find two color versions of the 1988 Samurai diagram created by Cory "Dice" Daniels. Take a look at the first one listed. It is the unmodified version. The other version contains mods that might be of interest to you later in your Samurai adventure.

Use the color coding to make sure the wiring has not been tampered with by the previous owner and that the ground wires at each fixture are properly grounded to the body or frame.

If you have further questions feel free to ask them here!

I hope that this helps!

Thanks for the website link! That looks like it will provide a ton of info. I have the diagram pulled up but to be honest I'm not entirely sure what to look for. I have checked the grounds and they seem to be secured to the frame or body just fine. What's really weird is that they were working a few months ago because the previous owner had it pass safety and emissions with no issues. That was after the aftermarket bumper was installed. I can take a more thorough look at everything but like I said I'm not sure exactly what to look for. Thanks again!

Did some more digging and now I'm really lost. I found that two of this thing I'm not even sure what to call was not plugged into two of the connectors. A different connector is just dangling with nothing plugged in but only has 3 slots and not 4 like the other two that had that thing plugged in there. I am totally lost now. I put the pictures in the attachments. Any ideas?

The top photo looks like a relay with the cover removed.
I believe yours should have 2, the main relay and a fuel pump relay.

Its not that uncommon to find connectors going nowhere, if you could take a pic showing the wire colours we may be able to tell what it does and if it needs to be connected.

I can't figure why the turn fuse blows but the hazards still work. Here's a diagram to help people figure it out.
I would test the bulb first on the check light circuit, some people just remove it if there is a problem and it still runs OK. Of course it could just be blown.

I doubt it's the switch as it has no earth. You could do with a multimeter to start checking things out. I would recommend buying one as you don't need anything expensive. I do however recommend somebody helps you out to learn how to use it safely.

I think I may have found the issue. The backup lights and 4 wheel drive lights are not connected! The switches have been replaced but for whatever reason have not been connected. Does anyone have a picture of where the switches connect to? I can't seem to find the male connectors.
