I have never experienced one but Lightning has some pretty dark reviews. Mostly I have heard about the V6 conversions and have yet to hear about anyone being happy with them.

If your going 1.6 Suzy engine I know for a fact that Trail Tough and Low Range both have kits well regarded, I have one in my Sami and very happy.

I did a search to see if I could find this kit and I could not but the first thing I found was this link discussing the CO. suzuki lightning conversions: why you hate them

If you got a link to the kit I would like to check it out.

Are you going with an 8 valve or 16 valve?

BTW, love your paint job!

Default Lightning Conversion

Looking the their website they show a new type kit for 1.6. 16V
A remanufactured engine completely dressed, ready to drop in
with the harnest and conversion kit.

The reviews look bad on thier custom in house work.

I would proceed with caution considering all the negative press they have earned, it's never an accident when a business has that many unhappy customers. I really have some doubts about their business acumen after researching it a bit. It might be worth trying to find reviews from anyone else that purchased this particular kit. Do they offer a written guarantee? If so read it word for word.

Yup, I have trust issues but it sure keeps me from getting effed. If you go this route please take some pics of the unboxed items and document your experience. Also maybe ask what they did to get 110hp, IIRC it's a 95-100 hp engine in good health but I might be a little off on that. I didnt see a hi PSI fuel pump listed but you will need one of those and a few other things I'm not recalling. Can you get a detailed list of what you get for the $3k?

How is engine availability in your locality? Could you potentially pick up a good running wreck or rust bucket sidekick near you? If cost is a factor you might consider this option
1.6 Liter Suzuki Engine Conversion Kit

I have done business with Trail Tough before and they are straight up, also Brent knows his stuff inside and out. I'm not sure if they could get you an engine also but worth asking before making a final choice. I have no affiliation or interest in any of these companies but I like to see people have good experiences when dumping thousands of hard earned $$ into a project. Please do keep us posted.
