Default Electric Fuel Pump

I have 87' Samurai has mechanical fuel pump. I would like to know is there a electric fuel pump that replace exact same mount as the mechanical pump? What brand you suggest to get? Where does the wiring hooks up to?

In a word no. You can blank the mechanical pump off though and fit a Facet style pump near the fuel tank.

I'm not in favor of "modifying" vehicles unless you know what to do & why to do it - mechanical fuel pumps stop pumping when the engine stops, electric fuel pumps don't - for this reason, vehicles fitted with electric fuel will have an inertia switch (or similar safety device) to shut down the pump should there be an accident.

Replacement mechanical pumps are readily available.
