Default rearend lockup

88 sami....on my way to work the rear end was squeaking a bit...so i decided to turn around and head home..bout 1km she was really squeaking and a bout a minute later the whole rear end locked right up..wouldnt even move off the road..finallhy got her home ..tore the rear end apart and everything seems to move freely and no metal shavings anywhere.......also the t-case is also moving freely.................................what happened?

Brakes fully inspected as well?

upon closer look it was my pinion bearing all torn..does that need to be pressed out ?

I'm not sure, I think the race has to be pulled out or tapped through from the other side. I have the manual at home but Im in the field right now. I think ACKs FAQ page has a link to the digital manual. It should have the info for setting gear lash to.
