Default trapped wire

hi all could this cause my engine cut out problems i took the plastic cover off the engine to check spark plugs and found this

Potentially - yes - it all depends on what the pinched/severed wire is connected to.

If I were to assume that it is a part of the coil harness there will probably be three wires in there - a +12V feed (which if shorted to ground will cause a fuse to blow), an igniter drive (which if shorted to ground will probably cause a misfire and may result in ECU damage) and a ground wire (which if shorted will probably have no effect whatsoever).

I assume this is the Jimny m16a engine going by the photo.
