Default Trans drain plug

Did the "drain and fill" thing with the diffs, but ran into a problem with the trans. It looks like the trans drain plug has been rounded off, so I need to get another one before completing that job.

Does anyone know if the oil drain plug or diff drain plugs are the same? If not, does anyone know what the size and thread pitch is for the trans drain plug?

Send a reply to my email address: [email protected]

That way, I can check it during the day, and make a parts store run before heading home after work.

Thanks!

You should add the make, model, year and transmission type to your post.

Just to be safe.

1987 Suzuki Samurai, manual trans

I got in contact with a company called Xtreme Zuks, and they're sending me another trans drain plug.

I got new shocks installed today, and while the truck was up on the lift, I looked at the trans drain plug, and whoever the tech was that was supposed to change the trans fluid must've been on crack. It looks fine to me, should be easy to remove with a standard 6-point socket or open end wrench. Once I get the new plug, I'll take it back and have them do the drain and fill.
