Default sj410 valve stem seals

Hello,
Because i'm getting alot of blue smoke on start up ( which clears after about 10 mins ) i suspect the valve stem seals need changing . I've heard this can be done without removing the head by dropping the valve onto the piston then lowering to change the seal then bringing back up again . Has anybody tried this ? or can see any problems in doing this . I really don't want to remove the head.

Thanks for any replies,
Bryan.

hello, you can do it without taking the head off, but you will need a compressor, you buy this attachment that conects to the compressor and you put i in the spark plug hole which keeps the valves closed in that cylinder, then you remove the collets and valve springs to change seals, easy.
