Default Is this a head gasket? Cracked block? What?

Ok, I have a 1987 Suzuki Sammy. Has always ran GREAT. Let me give you the run down.

I don't drive it much to start off, just to my deer lease and back. This year it over heated on me. I noticed the coolant reservoir was cracked and it wasn't holding any coolant when it came over from the radiator. So I fixed that, and it never over heated again.

Fast forward about 6 months later, it over heated and started leaking oil out of the blue. I replaced the valve cover gasket, and the oil leak stopped and it didn't over heat.

Then I decided to sale it because I just never drive it. I sold it to my uncle for $1,750. What I thought was very cheap, it ran seemingly fine, only has 80k miles.

He got the oil changed and was told there was a small amount of water in the oil. Then after a couple weeks he changed it again and there was still a little water in the oil and the coolant in the radiator was nearly a gallon low after topping it off. (I think it's coolant in the oil not water)

So my question, what all would cause this, and how much $$ are we talking to fix it? And if the Suzuki drives good as it, will it cause damage to keep driving it?

Thanks!

sounds like the start of a bad head gasket. Just guessing, but $500-$750 maybe, depends a lot on labour price and the real issue...

Keep in mind that oil is lighter than water and will stay on top. Once enough water collects at the bottom of the oil pan to where the pickup gets it. Good bye to all motor bearings. Get the cooling system pressure tested.
