Default other reason for dim headlight?

So I have the notorious dimming headlight happening on the passengers side.
From searching, I read about the funky wiring. So I check my fuses. My fuse box isnt marked so I just checked EVERY fuse. They are all good.
The bulb works in both dim and brights...just very dim in both. Every now and then it will come on full. But not for long.

Is there any other quarky samurai only gremlin I need to know to check?

First thing I would do is check all your grounds for the left side circuit. just to be safe as the wiring for the lights suzuki did in a different way then most manufacturers. From there I might strip some of the insulation off of the harness to see how those wires look. Very well may be corroded throughout the whole harness. I just rewired my entire engine compartment for this. I was having so many issues so I said fuck it. I was having a dim issue with my right marker light and it ended up just being dirty copper wires in the wire itself

I hate electrical......
The switched ground crap causes a lot of problems from what I have now read.
Both from a problematic and compatibility standpoint.

Grrr.

Yes it does. I believe several vendors sell the headlight mod as well. I hate electrical as well. It generally takes too long and after doing it for so many years it kills my fingers all day sitting there twisted and cutting wires, etc. As for vendors, I think Low Range Off Road carries the headlight harness mod. From there you can upgrade bulb housings as well to fit H4 bulbs in. If you want to do that on your own just let me know and I can draw up a diagram for you in Visio that you can use to wire it all up

Oh also, Double check the resistance on the fuses. If I am not mistaken I think if a fuse blows you will still get power to the headlight... Someone will have to chime in on that one though. I would also pop the fuse block out and verify the connection on the back of the fuse block. Check everything in ohms and Verify 1-5 ohms instead of just the little beep that most use. Each headlight should have it's own fuse. Let me know what you come up with and I can help you out from there.

Well, I checked EVERY fuse...solid.
I checked the connections to the headlight...solid.
I didn't strip back the wire, or jumper anything.
Then I ran out of time.
Went to take my son to basketball practice and the bulb is staying bright now.

I hate electrical! lol...

Yup, more than likely a bad connection some where. If you didn't clean the connections I would try to do that soon with some emery cloth or similar. Glad I could be of help. Speaking of that I looked at your member thing on the side, where are you at in northern colorado? I used to live in the springs

Oh ok. Nice. I always do my wheeling on the back side of the springs going out towards cripple creek. I thought about going up that way to wheel but the area I go is pretty dang good too. Back when I was younger I used to live up north of Greeley as well

hehe, welcome to my world, wiggling a connector is all it can take. the number of light faults I see from connectors crimped onto the insulation not the wire and making intermittent contact is uncountable.

If it comes back, pay particular attention to the wires where they go into the connector, hold the connector and wiggle the wire and see if the fault disappears. if it does, you know where to look harder for a proble,

have fun, I just love chasing these sort of faults (yes, that was sarcasm )
