Attempting to correct 1 1/2 in. Height difference in rear,I replaced original springs and shocks on front and rear. Used OME products. No change except about a 2 1/2 in. Lift all around.
No regrets about the change but are there any suggestions to level off the rear end that I may have missed?
I'll give you 10:1 odds - it's an 88½ Samurai - look at the subject of the post.
BLU-SU - is the height difference left/right or front/rear?
If it's left/right, make sure you have the correct springs and that they are installed correctly - OME does not supply identical springs, the driver's side spring will usually have more arch (designated by a + marking).
If it's front/rear, I believe it is normal for the rear to be higher than the front - however you can also check the springs - OME supplies the springs with different load capacities - if you choose a higher capacity spring and do not load the vehicle accordingly, it will ride high (or vice versa) - you can correct this by replacing the springs with appropriate set or possibly through the use of custom shackles.
Please note that although it may be possible to correct ride height by using a block between the axle & the spring, this is not safe for the front, and can cause premature failure of the springs when done at the rear.
With the info on the different spring arcs I would assume the drivers side would ride higher in the rear.
Thanks for the responses.
