Default Need Samurai engine advise

Hi all, newbie here.
I have an 88 tin top Samurai that has the 1.3 engine with a spun bearing. I am trying to figure out if I should just sell it as is (how much is worth?) or go for the 1.6 8V engine swap(I can do that myself) Cash is low and I'm not sure if it is even worth putting the money into it.
It is in decent shape, has 33s and was running ok before the engine problem.
The engines I found at the local junk yard (Raleigh NC area) are 700 and up and, I'm not ready to pay that much.
Any advise would be appreciated.

Thanks

My sami popped an engine (Sidekick engine) so rather than pull apart to go through it or buy a junkyard engine I purchased a whole Sidekick with rust and body damage for $300 and it's still using that engine today. Parting the rest of it out broke me even to.

I would surf CL and see whats out there. If time is a factor you might just find out about turning the crank and installing OS bearings if there has been no other damage to the rods or block.
