Default samurai coolant no flow/overheat

couldn't find relative problems here or there so...
86 samurai overheating.
new radiator & hoses
tried 2 used thermostats, 1 from running samurai with good cooling system
no noticeable leaks or sounds
with cap off radiator, see no flow at all, no oil either. no coolant in oil.
takes about 10 minutes to get up to temp while idling at a stop, then continues to steadily climb in temperature.
top radiator gets hot bottom stays cool or warm
waterpump?
if so, what should i get besides pump, gasket & timing belt?
never done one but have FSM. any tips or tricks?
looks like bottom crankshaft pully has a wobble, tiny tiny oil leak as well. can do that gasket/seal while in there doing timing?
can i find a replacement crankshaft pully somewhere?

Any history of radiator stop leak material? I changed my pump when I changed a leaking radiator and found the pump so full of material it would not move water. Will the radiator drain from either the drain petcock or bottom hose? Ebay is a good source for the pulley.

not sure about previous owner, i flushed the system and put a brand new radiator, cap, hoses. doing new waterpump, thermostat, timing belt, compression test, valve adjustment today see how it goes

stays at temp now but seems higher than normal on the gauge, its level with the ground, above the line. my other samurai always stayed right on the line. also its smoking a bunch, revving and driving makes it worse.

I have the same problem, what could it be? I only cleaned the radiador but it has no flow on top of the radiador.

Take the rad cap off and with it running are you getting any coolant surges? Have you pulled the plugs and check for moisture, crank it over and look for a mist from a cylinder? Revving sounds loke a vac leak.

The gauges are not precision instruments (notice there are no numbers?), as long as you're not showing an overheat you're probably safe - if you want to know the exact temperature, get yourself an IR temp gun, they're available at around $40 or so.

I'll get a temp gun right away, thanks for the suggestion. It is going too hot now even stationary (on the gauge) going to compression test, head gasket chemical test, swap fans from my other truck, re-gap plugs , ignition timing, adjust weber. Smoke smells like Lucas oil and has gotten better since valve adjustment, but still no good.
No coolant surges in radiator, just put new water pump, plugs show no moisture, it's not revving by itself I was just saying when I rev it smokes more.

If this helps:
Brand new: radiator, water pump, thermostat, spark plugs, timing belt, adjusted valve lash clearance, plug wires, distributor cap & rotor, mech. fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel pressure reg,
Weber, some more too. No noticeable oil or coolant leaks, or cross contamination with fluids.
