Default weight, leaf spring, and coilover

Here's the dilemma. I was told that due to US DOT, us market must be over certain lbs, so the label on the Sammi is 29xxlbs, but searching results on the forum is about only 2xxx, so a friend of my put a new set of oem leaf spring on his tintop, it drove like shit, way stiffer then before, so my thinking is, the leaf spring manufacturer only make their spring to the suzuki manufacturer spec on the interior label, so the new spring is spec to 29xxxlbs, which is too stiff for the 2xxxlb sammi...
Long story short, I did some research, my 87 sammi front spring is 250lbs each, toyota tacoma front coilover is 310lbs, same as the vitara, what are the thoughts on putting 4 tacoma front coilovers on my sammi? I'll be adding maybe 100lbs- 500lbs of weights on my sammi, exo rollcage, 29" tires...etc.
