Default Swap small flange to large flange on 87 samurai t-case

Is it posible to remove the small flange from my 87 sami transfer case and replace with the larger late model one. I need a replacement yoke and can only find the large flange yoke as a new part. So it seemed the easiest route would be to exchange the flsnge itself. is there any other advantage to the larger flange and yoke as in strength? Thanx for any help. I either need someone selling the large flange or a small flange yoke to correct my proble. Thanx for any help anyone can provide.

Yes, you can pull the small flange off your old t-case.

The large flange uses bigger and stronger bolts to hold the yokes on. The U-joints and shafts are the same.

You can also have the large flange drilled to accept your small-flange yoke.

I swapped my SJ413 TC with a TC from a SJ410 which has lower gearing.
All I had to do was swop the flanges on both and add some spacers on the back as my bigger flange was shorter
