i finally got my Suzuki that i bought in nov back home to prince George today,
i went to drive it off the trailer and i couldn't get it into gear at all, it would only drive if i put it into 4 wheel drive. Is this the norm or am i doing something wrong? it is a 87

I would remove the tcase lever and check that the plastic bush is intact, it is a common failure at high mileages and can cause the gear selectors to get out of sync.

Unlocked hubs do not stop it from moving. Like Rhinoman said check both your shifter sheets.
