I keep getting this warning. I can use the back button and try again and the page will then load.

I only get this warning on Autoguide sites so more of an inconvenience than anything else. I investigated and found out that the warning is because this site is considered unsecured since there in no lock symbol (HTTPS) in the address bar.

I feel like a big dummy, Max's post below mine discussed this: https://www.suzuki-forums.com/suzuki-...ot-secure.html

This is what FF stated: www.suzuki-forums.com uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is only valid for www.10thcivicforum.com Error code: SSL_ERROR_BAD_CERT_DOMAIN

Wink No feeling!

No reason to feel anything, we appreciate any security heads up.

By the way, did you update your Flash lately as in yesterday??

There is a major threat announced yesterday.

Update it or remove it.

Thanks for the warning about Flash, but I removed it about a year ago. Our IT department had sent out a security warning and removed it from all the computers. They also blocked access to their site. It is a shame that people spend so much time hacking and causing problems for people who just want to use the internet.

Hey guys,

In regards to the security warning you are seeing, it is a known issue. The short version of it - the site is as secure as it's ever been. There is an extra layer of security that is getting added in the near future that will make that warning go away.

Longer Version: that warning is letting you know that the site doesn't use Https, a security feature that mostly protects the site from a MIM attack (or Man in the Middle). A MIM is when someone is intercepting what you are typing, as you type it.

Since most everything that is being typed here is going to a public forum that can be read by anyone, and there is zero eCommerce going on, it's never been something that made a lot of sense for us to protect against. However, now that Firefox has started flagging sites that don't use the feature, and Google Chrome will be doing the same come November, we'll be adding this extra security feature. Adding Https to the site has always been on the "to-do" list, but it's being pumped up in priority, mostly to keep the sites reputation as a safe place.

We have no official ETA on that though but we'll alert you when it does happen.

Thank you for your patience and understanding on this.

Cheers,
Nate
