Default Perhaps a new forum for 2015+ Vitara ?

... given that there is not a single part in common with the 2006+ Grand Vitara models with the exception of the M16B engine which is used in several other Suzuki models as well.

Even a separate main forum might be appropriate for "2015+ Vitara and 2014+ S-Cross" since these vehicles are quite similar.

Default It works for me

The current lineup looks like...

1G (1999-2005) Vitara & Grand Vitara

2G (2006+) Vitara & Grand Vitara

1G (2001-2006) XL-7

2G (2007+) XL7

1. So is there a GRAND Vitara in the proposed NEW category / year spread in discussion, or just a Vitara?

2. Isn't the S-Cross an SX4?
SX4 S-Cross Offers ? Suzuki Cars UK

3. The whole Gen designation entries are off to begin with according to ...
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suzuki_Escudo

Apparently it should read...
2G (1999-2005) Vitara & Grand Vitara

3G (2006-2014) Vitara & Grand Vitara

and add anew:
4G 2015+ Vitara (and Grand Vitara?)

then continue with

1G (2001-2006) XL-7

2G (2007+) XL7

While at it, should we cap the end date of the XL-7?
What would IT be?

And yes, there is actually a 1G Vitara relegated to another section, without that titled Gen distinction.

Am I making any sense?

From what I understand, the 2015 Vitara is a complete redesign, unibody, etc. I imagine that, at least for a few years, any 'repairs' would be covered by a service agreement, and probably not be prone to a lot of 1st hand knowledge of repairing the vehicle, at least until it was out of warranty?? While I expect that, over the course of time, such a section might be needed, I'm not sure that there would be much activity in it, as the car is relatively new. Do we see a lot of action, say, for the 2013 or 2014 GV??

Not a bunch.

And since Suzuki pulled out of North America AND sales have declined in general worldwide, the newer era discussion area is pretty slim.

We have had a little post 2014 discussion though.

I think we should add the new 15+ Vitara since it is a completely different one from the years prior. Lets add it..

Am I adding these two 2015+ Vitara and 2014+ S-Cross?

and in which order, before which category?

I think this one is a stand alone after the existing SX4 titled section,
(Suzuki SX4 Forum)

2014+ S-Cross

And this one,

2015+ Vitara

as

4G 2015+ Vitara and Grand Vitara

After modifying the earlier entries (with their corrected Gen #)

after the, (then corrected) 3G (2006+) Vitara & Grand Vitara

We still don't know if the last Gen entry is both Vitara and GRAND Vitara though.

Edit: I guess GRAND still IS an option to this day!

Hi,

I have changed the names of 1G (1999-2005) Vitara & Grand Vitara and 2G (2006+) Vitara & Grand Vitara as you requested. I also created the two new sections as you requested. 2014+ S-Cross and 4G 2015+ Vitara and Grand Vitara. For 4G 2015+ Vitara and Grand Vitara I created the permissions to be the same as 2G (1999-2005) Vitara & Grand Vitara and with 2014+ S-Cross the permission is the same as the SX4 Forum. Let me know if there are any issues with this.
