Default piece of JUNK!

Hey! Just wanted to say to all of you that I used to own a Chevrolet Optra... (it's the same car) This car is sold under many badges and is a piece of $hit. It's manufactured by Daewoo and sold as a holden, chevy, suzuki and of course as a Daewoo in Korea. It's NOT a real Suzuki.. Check any of the manufacturer's stickers on it... It'll say GM Daewoo on it. In any case, while I had my car I defended it to the death! But now that it's gone... I HATE THAT PIECE OF JUNK! Never had a worse car! Every time I brought it in for an oil change, there was some kind of problem. Whether it be oil leaks or some kind or low fluid or some light that just won't turn off, it had problems coming out the arse! Then, one day the headlights started to leak, so I decided to go get new ones. I ordered some from a dealer and was on my way to go pick them up, when suddenly my check engine light goes off. One of the worse imaginable things had happened to my car, the head gasket had blown. The heat stopped working, the engine started to overheat. So, I had to get a tow to a dealer to get it looked at. Well after 2500 bux my car was fixed and I would NOT drive it again. I was tired of it. I went to a local Suzuki dealer (Ensuring that the car I was purchasing was a genuine Suzuki and not some crappy car masquerading as a Suzuki) I ended up purchasing the Suzuki SX4 Sport. This is an amazing car, so don't think that just because your Forenza or your Verona are crap doesn't mean that the rest of the suzuki's will be. I'd watch out for the swift+ thought because that's also a Daewoo.

Anyways in short I'd just like to say that Suzuki makes amazing cars, just be sure that you are buying one that they ACTUALLY make.

(Also just thought I'd mention that I treated my forenza like gold! had synthetic oil premium gas, fixed any small problem it has as soon as I heard about it, yet still the worst happened!)

Thanks for readin'

Mack

I have a 2004 Optra..... boosted with 240whp on the stock motor and a custom 6 spd trans. The only problem I've had that wasn't my fault is a couple sensors going bad. I think the car is quite good for what it cost at the time of purchase and compared with other cars in its price range. Only real complaints are overly soft stock suspension and mushy motor mounts.

I think you really did just have some bad luck with the vehicle you got :|

well there is no one car company I am against more than GM... It's a GM vehicle full and true... Back when I had it I was defending it all the time and blind to most of the problems I had with it. But now, looking back I see that I spend at least 200 a month excluding oil to fix leaks and electrical problems.. Keep in mind that I am doing regular once a week 800km+ road trips... So far with the SX4 I have had NO problems what so ever, and I am at the same mileage I had on my Forenza. No doubt Suzuki is a GREAT car manufacturer... at least when they actually make the car. It has many reported problems and even the dealer themselves say to steer clear of them. I'm not saying this to insult anyone who already has one, I clearly thought it was a snappy car, which is why I got it in the first place.

Anyways, thanks for readin'!

Mack, I have to agree with you. I know a lot of owners who try to defend the car and then when the gasket blows or valves fry they turn on the car. Mostly because they have 90-115K miles on them and this is a problem they should not be having. I have an SX4 and love it.
