Unhappy Automatic Trans Questions....

Does anyone know how to check the auto-trans fluid? The book says theres a sight glass.. I can't find it. I've been under there with mirrors looking eveywhere. Even the Chilton books can't even tell me... PLEASE HELP SOMEONE......

*Correct fluid level is hard to check for someone not equipped properly*

But, I've been able to open the side plug with a 8mm pipe plug socket. From there, with the engine running and slightly hot, fluid will problably come out. That means correct or a bit overfilled. If nothing comes out, they say you should pump fluid in until it begins to come out.

Also, the car has to be level for the procedure... I used ramps for the front and jacked the rear until level was achieved...

I have a 2008 forenza and my trans (a manual) has a 5/8(i think) hex style plug i don't know if all of them have it but I thought that I should put it out there.
