Default Starts then doesn't

Just changed engine in a 2004 Suzuki Forenza started the motor with the serpentine belt off just to make sure it turned over started instantly put the belt on then started really hard wouldn't stay running or doesn't start at all. Has anyone else ran into this problem before.

First off,

to the forum!

Oh, man!!

I think you put the belt on backwards!!

Yes, I'm kidding.

Do you have the check engine light on - any codes?

Strange trouble, hard to say what as it could be electrical, mechanical or fuel related.

At least a code would point you in the right direction.

Best of luck.

Don

From what you said about starting the engine before and after the serpentine belt, ..
Check accessory pulleys before putting the serpentine belt on
If a pulley is stiff or hard to turn then it may affect the running of the engine
