ok so i just bought this 08 reno last week from auction not knowing what i was getting into. first my buddy couldnt get it to start (i was out of state) found a broken wire (neutral safety switch). then it was in limp mode (only drives in 4th). I finally get home the next day and get to play with it. Range sensor was out (ordered new waiting on it to show up) got to playing with it and it started working (though still stuck in 4th) restarted the car and got it to go into 1st. went to shift into 2nd and lost everything though it jumped into gear a few times. put it back in park and back into drive for limp mode and made it home. codes i am getting are 0700 0705 (new one on the way) 0722 and 0733
any ideas? doubt there would be few replies
btw i should add
40k
needs valve cover gasket
i have not checked tranny fluid level yet as i work out of town and its been raining for a week straight

ok changed out the range sensor and its showing all gears when shifted into them but only codes i am showing now are the same 0700 and 0722 and now instead of 0733 is 0732
will start out fine in first try to go into second and just fall flat on its ass put it in reverse its gone as well
back into park and then reverse its back but no fwd gears
shut the car off and you will have fwd gear again same results though
though this really doesnt matter as no one is replying back or even saying they are having the same issue

so finally broke down and called a dealer and made sure i talked to someone who is familiar with these cars. guy i talked to knew just about anything there was lol. needless to say i gave him the codes i had and he said i pretty much needed a tranny seeing as the parts i would need are no longer available (not even to them) and they just change the tranny. so im pretty just ready to say screw it and change he trans i found one for 289 with 6 month warrenty just not looking forward to changing it out especially when it has more then double the miles the car has
