Default 2008 suzuki forenza check engine light flashing, shaking when starting

Hi,

I recently got a 2008 Suzuki Forenza in December with about 91,000 miles and a new transmission. It was purchased from the reputable car dealership my dad works for. I had it inspected in late April and no issues. About 3 weeks ago when leaving for work and starting my car, it seemed to shake a little and the check engine light was flashing.

I called my dad immediately and he went on about some simple things it could be. said it should be okay to drive it but to just keep an eye if its driving weird. As soon as we got off the phone the light went off, drove it to work with no issues. I called him the next day and told him it had gone off and it was fine for work that day.

Since then it came on one day when i went up the street to the store and after I came out of the store 5 minutes later and it wasn't on. I drive it back and forth to work 4-5 days a week and for errands and whatnot. It has only come on those two days and then tonight on my way home from work.

When i started my car tonight it shook again a bit and the light was flashing again and car felt a bit shaky for a little bit down the road and kept flashing this time. About half way home the light went solid and the car seemed to drive okay. Made it home and turned the car off and waited a minute and then started it again, hoping it was off but it was still on and solid.

Has anyone had this issue? I haven't taken it to get looked at because my dad said the light needs to come on and stay on. I am hoping it is not a serious issue and an easy fix. I live 30 minutes from work and we have no spare car. I have looked online but haven't been able to find this issue.

I hope someone can help me. Thanks so much.

If the MIL came on there should be a stored code..

Besides that, have you opened the hood and checked the fluids??

Might be an idea to let us know where you are...
