Default Nice! I go to see my new Forenza Wagon (photos) and I meet...SuzukiDon!

So I go to see the Forenza Wagon because I'm anxious to see how it looks with all of the options. (Not ready yet, but I wanted my better half to see it before driving up in the driveway with it. She was happy with what she saw, thankfully. )

I meet the man working on it at the service counter and ask him if I can take a peek. He tells me to come out. I ask if I can take a couple of photos and mention that I am starting up a new Suzuki news blog site. He asks if I've been to Suzuki-Forums.com I say yes and say I'm "Ming" (btw, check this goodness out, my screenname just made TV, LOL) ---- anyway he says he's SuzukiDon...!

We shake and a guy near the exit of the garage cooking barbeque offers me a fajita...good times. Very nice.

Small world, huh?

Here are the photos -- the inside is missing mats, door sill plates "Forenza" on them, the bumper cover hasn't come in yet, and the B-pillar trim isn't on yet, but otherwise it is done, even with the nose mask installed. Oh, forgot to check if the chrome tailpipe tip is on.

Looks great - security, tint, mudflaps, I love the rims. I have no idea how the Graphics Package got added to my list, I didn't explicitly order it, but it looks great (glad it wasn't some funky color, grey looks good). Its the same scheme, but less colorful as a SEMA Reno from a couple of years back if memory serves.

Very nice to have an enthusiast working on your car and not some new-hire guy who doesn't even like Suzuki or isn't paying close attention to his install. It looked like it came from the factory that way.

Anyway, very cool to meet another Suzuki-Forums member like that. The place was mega-busy, and I think I stole him away from his job for too long, but he was very cool and informative as you guys know from his tech related posts. Here are photos:

I found out where I had seen the graphics package before at some auto show debut, and why I thought it had some color to it:

Suzuki Works Techno package debuts on new Reno

Forget about small cars looking plain and boring.

Suzuki's 2005 Reno, especially with new Suzuki Works Techno package added on, is arguably one of the most attractive-looking small cars on the market.

Maybe it's the Reno's upscale exterior that was crafted by Italdesign-Giugiaro, the Turin, Italy, design firm that has had a hand in such European marques as Fiat and Maserati.

Maybe it's the additional Suzuki Works Techno styling package that gives the Reno a customized flair.

Perhaps it's the well-groomed interior of this five-passenger hatchback.

Limited Production Reno LX SWT Edition

Inspired by the popularity of "Suzuki Works Techno" (SWT) vehicle styling packages that enable Suzuki car and SUV owners to personalize their vehicles, American Suzuki Motor Corporation (ASMC) rolls out a SWT edition for its popular new five-door Suzuki Reno for style-seeking consumers.

A limited production of Suzuki Reno LX SWT Edition vehicles in Sunburst Orange - including rear spoiler, carbon fiber enhancements, stainless-steel exhaust tip and other enhancements - are now available at select Suzuki dealerships nationwide. Consumers can purchase the complete, value-packed SWT edition for only $500 MSRP above the already aggressively priced and well-equipped Reno LX models, with a base MSRP of $15,894.

The Reno LX SWT Edition is the first in a series of SWT models to be offered by ASMC, and it will be followed immediately by a high-style SWT edition for the Suzuki Aerio SX five-door crossover.

"The Suzuki Reno has been a big hit with active, sports-oriented drivers - so we know that the potential for a dedicated Reno LX SWT Edition is significant," said Gary Sherfey, ASMC's accessories sales and marketing manager.

The Suzuki Reno LX SWT Edition features:
Mid-mount Rear Spoiler - Sporty, stylish spoiler straight from the auto show circuit
Carbon Fiber B-pillar Trim - Genuine carbon fiber enhancements and SWT logos for the vehicle's B pillars
Carbon Fiber Body Graphics - For a distinctive "street tuner" look
Rear Bumper Protector - Helps eliminate bumper paint damage when accessing the trunk
Trunk Gear Net - Keeps articles in the trunk from shifting
SWT Imprinted 64MB Key Fob Flash Drive - The latest in computer file sharing
Stainless Steel Exhaust Tip - Enhances performance look
In addition to the Reno LX SWT Edition features, the following SWT options can be easily and quickly installed by dealers:
Chrome Alloy Wheels
Gunmetal Gray Alloy Wheels
Carbon Fiber Dash and Console Trim
Additional SWT offerings are in development and will be available at select American Suzuki dealerships throughout 2005. Model-specific SWT products will be launched with future new Suzuki vehicles. Most packages will have slight variations from vehicle to vehicle and future plans call for distinct model-year packages to ensure maximum consumer appeal.

Suzuki's record sales and success have been fueled by a rapidly expanding product line, including the addition of the five-door compact Reno and versatile Forenza Wagon to the 2005 family. With eight body styles - six cars and two SUVs - Suzuki's 2005 models offer a class-leading level of features and amenities at a value.

Just noticed the bumper protector on the SWT Reno is black, wonder if that is a Reno thing? Mine is (or I expect it to be) gray with a Suzuki Logo.

Tim I'm up in Magnolia - I heard from Don that there are a few others around Houston so maybe we can work that out sometime in the future.
