I had replaced my head gasket and my car was running fine. Then one day it just lost power as i was driving down the road. I got it home but just barely. i could still sstart it up but Ihad to flood tthe engine pretty much and then it would start. The problem was that the timing belt slipped and it was off by a few teeth. I fixed the timing and everything but now the engine cranks but it don't seem like it wants to fire and start up. Its weird because it even started up when the timing was off but now it don't want to fire. I thought it was because the timing is still off but its not. I did everything right to time it. Help please???:(

hi csnell11 welcome to the forum! ok heres the deal, your car has what is known as an interference engine. this means that the motor runs under very tight tolerances. if something goes wrong with the timing you run the risk of a valve, or more, coming into contact with a piston and bending. so, when your timing went off and you kept forcing the motor to start theres a chance you bent some valves inside the head. i would double check everything , check the spark plugs make sure they look ok its also posibloe you fried a plug trying to start the car and thats the issue, in the end you might have to get the head chacked. not sure i would try to start it anymore untill you know what the problem is, if its the valves you could make it worse. let us know what you find out. anything else just ask!
