Default tachometer installation

hello guys..

For those who want to install a tachometer, hereunder is the connection process. I just installed one to my pickup truck. YOu can do it yourself...

TACHOMETER WIRING CODE (depends on the tachometer):

Black --- ground
Orange --- tachometer light ---- nearest and simplest tapping is on the wireline of the aircon switch cluster
connected to the line of the parklight.
Red ------ ignition line --------- just test your fuse box to find a line controlled by the ignition switch (ON).
One line controlled by Ignition is the radiator fan (Blue-white wire)
Green ---- to negative of the ignition coil ---- tap to the Brown-white wire of the ignition coil. The other wire
of the coil is a ground.. For Cateye TruckModels, the ignition coil is found under
the driver's seat just at the back of the fender. For other models, it is located
above the transmission under the floor.

you said pick up truck but there are quite a few of those...

got the info sir.... im referring to installation to KEI trucks or mini vans... however, the tachometer is not integral in a cluster meter but a separate item common to buy in auto supplies...

.. what is important is the connection to the ignition coil-negative wire ... as its signal is the driver of the tachometer....

I am aware of that but are you saying that the wiring code is the same for every truck:
FB(1961-1965)
L20(1965-1969)
L30(1966-1969)
L40(1969-1972)
L50(1972-1976)
ST10(1976-1979)
ST20(1976-1979)
ST30/ST31/ST40/ST41(1979-1985)
DA71T/DB71T/DA81T/DA41T/DB41T/DA51T/DB51T(1985-1991)
DC51T/DD51T(1991-1999)
DA52T/DB52T/DA62T/DA63T/DA65T(1999- present )

that would be pretty amazing...

Edit: Wait a minute... you are writing about the tacho NOT the truck right? lol

right sir... described colors are for the tacho wires (which may vary depending on the brand), ... the wiring codes for the ignition coil may also vary depending on the truck models... mine is colored Brown-white for the negative of the ignition coil... ty

truck (usual) is dd51t and van is dc51t, both cat-eye... tach works perfect.... for those who are not familiar with the settings, at the back of the tach unit has a selector switch marked 468.... the switch must be set to 4 (left most) .... meaning, 4cylinder.... even though f6A is a 3-cyl.....
