Default What to look for in a reconditioned car

I am interested in buying the suzuki Alto 660 cc, in pakistan, where they are sold as reconditioned cars imported from abroad. having very little experience of the matter, i wanted to know what exactly should i check and pay attention to when purchasing the car, to make sure there is nothing wrong with it. I'd be grateful if someone could tell me a few key points to look for.

Start by assuming that "reconditioned" means "used" - where I am we get what are described as "fully reconditioned" and "factory reconditioned" and what I see when I look underneath is sometimes terrifying - top looks good, interior spotless, but underneath - terrifying.

Treat it as you would any used car - take along a mechanic you can trust and have him give it a once over, inspect the undersides for rust (or signs of recent repairs to conceal rust damage)
